Someone who is amused rather than offended when I make Facebook illusions to our relationship through potentially inappropriate Dr. Horrible quotes.

Although you can expect to see a lot of geeky high-tech related stuff in here, especially as time goes on, I’ve decided to start blogging small bits and bytes of my life, with a nibble or two thrown in. More along the lines of Facebook, or a social blogging service, we’ll see how that goes.

This second video is the first one I made, and a response to some gay-hating asshole highly religious guy apparently. The top video is different, but makes the same first point, but it’s more about my opinion than about pwning someone else’s argument.

Also I got my first job on http://www.elance.com/ It’ll be paying out 200$ when I finish it. Hells yeah for working online!

Straight off, let me tell you that I will NOT be telling you how to make money online in this blog post, or future blog posts. Instead I’ll just put a link to the bottom to another blogger who is doing a much better job of it already.
I went to the link and started reading. Now, I have tried making money online before, but I’d run into two problems.
1) All those ‘make money fast’ sites, and ‘just take these surveys’ sites, are 90% bullshit, and 10% not worth the effort.
2) I didn’t know how to find, or partake in, actual WORK online.
Reading newt’s blog was kind of like a thunder bolt to the brain. I thought “hey here is something that is legitimate, actually works, and that I could do!” The answer was freelance online writing. So far, I’ve only actually made 10$, but if I actually win any of my bids on Elance, I could be making another 200$+ in the next couple of weeks. It isn’t killer cash or anything, but it’s great for a teenager who lives with his parents, and doesn’t find the idea of working at the trashy local theater, or McDonald’s all that appealing.
I also find it intriguing that on Elance (to my limited experience, Elance seems to be the best one for making large chunks of cash) Writing is only one of several category’s of freelance work you can do. It seems to me, that the online freelance community could make working from the ‘net, for people of a variety of talents, very achievable.
Anywho, if you want to learn more about how the hell this works, how to get started, and want to read a much more well written blog, go here http://newtliest.wordpress.com/.
PS. Really, I should step up the quality of my blog posts, so that I can show them off as examples of my work, but I’m too damn lazy, for the moment at least… Probably will get around to it sooner or later.

Allen Ellis, a supercool unschooler I met at NBTSC ’09, is making an awesome website with information about unschooling.
The relevance to this blog of course, is that I wrote two pages of mini-essays about my unschooling experiences for him, some of which are being used. I can’t send you all the link yet, since the website isn’t finished, but I will as soon as it comes out.
There is another excellent piece of media on the internet created by Allen Ellis however, which is the following video about NBTSC. If you are a homeschooler, unschooler, or the parent of one, and don’t know about NBTSC, I highly suggest you watch it.

Alright, first things first. I haven’t posted in almost a year, but I haven’t forgotten about this blog, I’m currently thinking of where I am going to take it content-wise in the future, and if I want to buy it a domain name.
Next up, I am an unschooler. This means, until I started taking community college classes of my own volition, I NEVER went to any kind of school, at any time in my life.
There are of course, some unschoolers who have been to school and quit, but I have the good fortune of parents that didn’t want to send me to school at all, so I haven’t had to waste a single second of my childhood in one of those dumps.
A theme which will ring loudly in my future writings, is my annoyance at those ignorant idiots who think that unschoolers don’t have a proper education.
I never went to school before college, I almost never even studied anything. I just learned stuff from living.
I taught myself to write, and taught myself a fair bit of math, and a lot about computers. This spring I finished my second semester of college, I got an A in two classes and a B+ in my third. The B+ was a kind of music history, and I got an A in intro to applications programming (Programming with Java), and an A in game design(ok, that was just easy). None of this was all that hard, even writing a research paper, which I had never done before.
Unschooling hasn’t given me any disadvantages in college, or in work. It has however, given my a great deal of happiness, resourcefulness, and amazingly good friends.

My second try at making an energy blast in adobe after effects. Everything in this video is done by me.
I’m rather proud of this one.
PS. I recommend you go to Youtube and watch this in HQ.

I’ll be getting a Radeon 4830 some time in the next four days. Pretty cool right? Yep, although I would have liked to step it up to an 4850 really, it’s good enough to run any games I like quite well. At least until I get to build a computer from stratch, but that’s not going to be until much later this year most likely. So by then, there will be a whole new set of video cards to choose from in the appropreate price ranges.
And because the PSU in my Dell computer sucks big time, and the one in my older computer can actually handle up to 550 wats of power, I’ll be swapping them out before installing the Video card. I’m rather excited to do it myself, lets hope I don’t break anything. :x
Now as for my robotics project… I have everything I need, techniqually, but I want to get a set of small screw drivers for taking apart the servos, so I don’t strip the screw heads. So I’m going to wait until after I finish this week of college to do build it.
Not much else to say really…. I’m thinking of video taping myself building the 50$ robot to put on youtube and play in fast forward(time lapse style). But that’s only going to work if I can find a program which can edit .mov (quicktime) files. ah well….

Well, I got asked to describe myself, then thought about it for a while, and I came up with this.
Describe myself? That’s rather hard, and to do it well would take a while. I could list facts of things I like, such as reading, martial arts, or music, but those are things I like, they aren’t who I am, they are just part of it. So how can I do it? Well I can’t I suppose, you’d have to actually know me. And then of course, truth be told, I’m not really the best person to describe me anyway, after all, my view is a bit biased.
Kinda cheesy huh? yeah I know, but I liked the sentiment at least.
Also, I got linked to and quoted on an odd porn blog, seeing as I do not have, and never intend to have any adult content here, I deleted the comment with the track back, although it looked like it might have actually been a real blog. kinda funny to have porn blogs linking to me. :P
